Welcome Back from Covid19 Lock Down
We’d like to welcome everyone back from the Covid19 National Lock down. It has been wonderful seeing all our tamariki and their whanau return back to the centre after spending over seven weeks at home.
To help keep our centre whanau safe, we have had to implement some new procedures to prevent the spread of Covid19. These routines have includes hand sanitizing at the front gate, having temperature checks, saying goodbye to parents at the front door, and extra hand washing once inside the building. All the children have taken this in their stride and have quickly got use these new practices, while developing an understanding about how to keep themselves safe.
All the tamariki have been very eager to return back to our West Auckland Childcare Centre. They have begun re-connecting with their peers, teachers and their environment. The sound of the chatter and laughter has been a beautiful sound to hear.
The children have all done an incredible job in re-settling back. They know the centre is a safe place to be and is an environment that is fun and enjoyable to be apart of.
The children have loved being able to engage with their peers again this week. Seeing their faces light up when they saw their friends, was absolutely priceless. Having these relationships also gave the children the confidence to say goodbye to their parents at the door and settle into their day at the centre.
The children have quickly got into the swing of sharing, turn-taking and negoiating their thoughts and ideas to their peers. These are all great attributes to have as they continue to develop their social competency.
All our teachers at Te Atatu South Childcare Centre are so excited to see everyone back. We are looking forward to hearing the children’s stories about things they did during lock down and continuing to watch them grow.
We currently have limited spaces available at our small West Auckland childcare centre. We are a high quality preschool in Te Atatu South who cares for 0-6 year olds.
